File Management in Adobe Lightroom

Presenter: Judy Hancock Holland

Adobe Lightroom is a powerful program for image organisation and processing, but it can be a headache if you don’t understand how to use it correctly. This session will be helpful whether you’ve used Lightroom for some time, or are just considering getting started. We will cover the following topics:

  • Lightroom catalogs — what they are and how they work

  • how to fix your catalog mess (if you have one)

  • Importing. organising, and reorganising images

  • keywording and collections including smart collections

  • backup strategies

  • resources for further reference

Judy Hancock Holland is an award-winning photographic artist living on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. She has done troubleshooting and technical support for Mac computers for many years and is now retired. She enjoys the post-processing side of photography as much as the shooting side, and does presentations on minimalism, building blocks of composition, photography as a spiritual path, and “getting to wow” with your images.
