Sigma has announced two new fast prime lenses, expanding its Contemporary and Art lines with the Sigma 15mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary and the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art. Designed for different formats and users, both lenses focus on improved optical performance, portability and features that support both stills and video.

The Sigma 15mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary is a new large-aperture wide-angle lens for APS-C cameras. Offering a focal length equivalent to 22.5mm on full frame, or 24mm on Canon RF mount cameras, it is aimed at street, travel, landscape and video shooters who want a bright lens in a compact body.
Sigma says the new 15mm is around 50% lighter than the 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, and around 30%. Weighing just 220g in Sony E mount, it is currently the lightest lens in the Sigma F1.4 DC series.
Optically, the lens has been designed to improve edge-to-edge sharpness while suppressing sagittal coma flare, making it suitable for night scenes and astrophotography. The nine-blade aperture is intended to produce rounded bokeh, even at wider apertures, and flare and ghosting have been reduced using advanced simulation technology.
Autofocus is driven by a stepping motor, delivering fast and quiet performance for both stills and video. Focus breathing has also been minimised, which will appeal to filmmakers and content creators. An aperture ring is included on all mounts apart from the Canon RF version, which features a control ring instead. The lens also benefits from a dust and splash-resistant structure and a water and oil-repellent coating on the front element.
Available mounts include Sony E, Fujifilm X and Canon RF mount.

The Sigma 15mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary is priced at £449 and will be available in Sony E mount, Canon RF Mount and Fujifilm X Mount.
It is set to go on sale on 12 March 2026.
The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art is the latest evolution of Sigma’s popular 35mm F1.4 in the Art line. Designed for full-frame cameras, it is available in L Mount and Sony E mount.
Sigma describes it as delivering the best optical performance yet in its 35mm F1.4 Art series. The new design uses 15 elements in 12 groups, including four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements. Axial chromatic aberration has been carefully corrected to improve sharpness and reduce colour fringing, both in focus and out of focus.
The 11-blade rounded diaphragm is designed to maintain a circular shape when stopped down, helping to produce smooth bokeh. A newly developed AAC coating reduces flare and ghosting, delivering clear, high-contrast images even in challenging light.
Despite the optical upgrades, the lens is around 14 per cent shorter and 20 per cent lighter than the previous 35mm F1.4 DG DN | Art. A floating focus system contributes to both improved image quality and a more compact build.
The autofocus is powered by Sigma’s dual HLA system, delivering fast and quiet focusing suitable for stills and video. The lens includes two AFL buttons, a de-clickable aperture ring, an aperture ring lock switch and a dust and splash-resistant construction. A petal-type hood with a locking mechanism is also supplied.
The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art is priced at £849 and will be available in Sony E mount and L Mount.
It is set to go on sale on 16 April 2026.
