Canon is marking three decades of its PowerShot camera line with the release of a special edition PowerShot G7 X Mark III. Launched to celebrate 30 years since the debut of the original PowerShot 600 in 1996, this new version of the G7 X Mark III introduces a fresh graphite finish, a twill-patterned lens ring and a dedicated anniversary logo printed on the body.
Inside, the camera is unchanged from the standard model. It features a 1.0-inch stacked CMOS sensor with 20.1 million effective pixels, and a 4.2x optical zoom lens with a wide aperture. Designed to meet the needs of today’s content creators, it includes a “Video Blog” shooting mode tailored for vlogging, alongside its stills capabilities.
Canon’s PowerShot range has developed considerably since the 90s, with the G Series in particular offering a strong combination of image quality and compact design. The company has kept pace with technological advances, introducing key features such as lens-based image stabilisation back in 2001, raw shooting in its G Series, and more recently, 4K video with heat-dissipation in the PowerShot V1.
The Anniversary Edition of the G7 X Mark III keeps the same performance and specifications that have made it a favourite among vloggers and compact camera fans, but with a more distinctive look and special packaging to mark the occasion.
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III 30th Anniversary Edition will be available from 23rd April 2026 and will be priced at £859.99 / €979.99.
