The world's biggest food photography competition is now open for entry for another year but with a new name, the 'World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® Broccolini'. Caroline Kenyon, Founder of the Awards, explains, ‘This name change is a big and joyful development for us, made to reflect the prestige, range, gravitas and global reach of the Awards as they enter their 14th year. We are thrilled to be partnered by such a highly-respected global brand, which is owned by the much-esteemed 111-year old Japanese seed company, Sakata, still family-owned and run.’

The Categories

There are over 25 categories in the competition, spanning the diverse ways that we interact with food, from growing, harvesting and cooking, to eating, celebrating, and surviving. This includes the Claire Aho Award for Women Photographers, a category close to my heart because it showcases the stunning work by female photographers.

This year, a new category, ‘World of Drinks’, will also be introduced. This joins the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year category as a drink rather than a food category.

In addition, one image of fresh fruit and/or vegetables from the Awards shortlist will be awarded 'The Bimi® Prize'.
