Panasonic has announced the Lumix TZ99, a new pocket-sized travel-zoom camera. With a powerful 30x optical zoom and a range of creative features, it’s built for travellers who want a compact camera capable of capturing high-quality images and video without the bulk of an interchangeable lens camera.

Inside the Lumix TZ99 is a 20.3MP 1/2.3-inch High Sensitivity MOS Sensor. This is paired with a 24-720mm (equivalent) LEICA DC lens, providing a 30x optical zoom. This zoom range can be extended digitally to 60x using Panasonic’s iZoom technology. This zoom range makes the TZ99 suitable for capturing everything from wide landscapes to distant details.

To keep images sharp and video stable even at maximum zoom, the TZ99 has 5-axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Optical Image Stabiliser).

The TZ99 records 4K video at up to 30p and offers 4K PHOTO functionality, which means you can extract 8MP still images from video bursts shot at 30fps. In addition, HD high-speed video recording at 120fps allows for slow-motion playback and more creative videos of sport and action.

Built with travellers in mind, the TZ99 measures just 112.0 x 67.8 x 43.1mm (W x H x D) and has a 3-inch tilting 1,840k-dot touchscreen for easy composition at creative shooting angles. There’s also USB Type-C charging, which means you can use a power bank to keep the camera charged when you’re away from home.

The Lumix TZ99 supports Bluetooth v5.0 for fast wireless connectivity and simple image sharing. A dedicated Send Image button makes transferring photos and videos to smartphones quick and straightforward.
