Panasonic Lumix G97 price, specs, availability
Panasonic has announced the Lumix G97, a new Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera designed for photographers and videographers looking to step-up from a smartphone or compact camera. It features a 20.3MP Four Thirds type CMOS sensor, paired with Panasonic’s Venus Engine processor. This combination is said to ensure great performance, vibrant colours and sharp details.
Sporting a mini-SLR design, the G97 features an electronic viewfinder and an articulating rear touchscreen foe easy composition.
The Lumix Photo Styles are onboard to allow photographers and videographers to customise the look of their images and movies without using a computer.
The Lumix G97 also features 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 in-body stabilisation, which offers up to 5 stops of shutter speed correction and helping to deliver smooth video.
The G97’s video resolution tops out at 4K at 30p, but there are no time limitations, only the capacity of your storage and battery power. There’s also slow and quick-motion recording in Full HD.
In addition, the Lumix G97 has useful features such as Post Focus, Focus Stacking and support for V-Log L for greater video grading capability.
Notably, the G97 features contrast detection rather than the faster phase detection focusing found in Panasonic’s higher-end cameras - as well as many competing models.
As a Micro Four Thirds camera, the Lumix G97 is compatible with a huge range of lenses from Panasonic and OM System (Olympus), as well as some from third-party manufacturers.
