The shortlist for the 2025 World Food Photography Awards, sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® Broccolini, has just been announced – and once again, it’s a fantastic celebration of food, culture and storytelling from all corners of the globe.
Thousands of images were entered by photographers from over 70 countries, with subjects covering everything from growing and harvesting food to cooking, sharing and survival. The shortlisted images give a fascinating insight into lives around the world – all through the powerful and often emotional language of food photography.
We’re especially proud to see that a few SheClickers have had their images shortlisted this year. It’s wonderful to see members of our community being recognised for their talent and creativity. You can view all the shortlisted photographs, including theirs, on the official World Food Photography Awards website.

This year’s judging panel was packed with experts from the food and photography industries. I was honoured to be part of the judging team, which was chaired by the brilliant David Loftus and also included Claire Reichenbach (CEO, The James Beard Foundation), Tom Athron (CEO, Fortnum & Mason), Max La Manna (award-winning digital creator), Rein Skullerud (Senior Photographer and Editor, UN World Food Programme), and chef and author Mogau Seshoene.

The winners across 25 categories will be revealed on Tuesday 20 May at the Champagne Taittinger Awards Evening in London, hosted by renowned chef and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi. The overall winner will receive a £5,000 prize.
If you’re near London, the free exhibition of finalist images will run at the Mall Galleries from Wednesday 21 May to Sunday 25 May. Selected images will also be on display at Fortnum & Mason from 2 June, and at the Museum of the Home from 3 June to 7 September.
