From Content to Fine Art

Presenter: Janet Haines ARPS EFIAP FIPF

Janet considers her work to be photographic art, that is to say, it is not something ‘taken’ but something ‘created’ from a vision inside her head and then, through the combination of very many photos and textures it becomes the final image.

In this webinar, Janet talks about putting together a body of work and achieving a Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Distinction. Also, as an appointed PermaJet lecturer and a print worker, Janet explains how and why she chooses certain papers for particular images.

About Janet

Cameras have always been part of Janet's life as her father was a keen amateur and she later discovered she had learnt much from him by osmosis. Owning a camera all her life it is only since 2000 that she has had the time and interest to develop her skills further. As a member of the Royal Photographic Society, Janet says challenging herself to present panels of work for their Distinctions has really helped her to improve and gain confidence in her work. She now considers herself a print worker adding ‘only when an image is printed does it finally become a little piece of art.'
