Three New Canon RF Hybrid Lenses Announced
Canon has introduced three new hybrid lenses to its RF series, expanding the range of options for photographers and videographers using its EOS R mirrorless camera system. The latest additions, the RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM Z, RF 50mm F1.4L VCM and RF 24mm F1.4L VCM, join Canon’s line-up of hybrid lenses designed to meet the demands of both stills and video creation.
These three hybrid lenses have a similar design and features, such as smooth, click-free iris rings and minimal focus breathing, making them practical choices for professionals working with video and stills.
Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM Z
The Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM Z offers a popular zoom range suitable for sports, wildlife and news gathering. The lens has an 11-blade aperture for smooth bokeh, focus breathing control and an electronic parfocal function to maintain focus during zooming — a key issue for filmmakers.
There's also Image stabilisation that offers up to 5.5 stops of shutter speed compensation when shooting handheld. The lens also supports Canon’s Power Zoom Adapters for motorised zoom control, which can be operated remotely or handheld.
The Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM Z is available in white or black and is compatible with Canon’s RF extenders.
