Eizo FlexScan FLT, the World's Most Energy-Efficient Monitor

Eizo has launched the FlexScan FLT, a 23.8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor designed for office use with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. It’s the world’s first monitor to receive a Class A rating on the European Energy Label.

Eizo has been committed to eco-friendly innovation for over three decades, with its latest target being carbon neutrality by 2040. The FlexScan FLT reflects this commitment, forming a key part of the company’s 'Transition to Net Zero' strategy.

The FlexScan FLT consumes just 6 watts of power during typical use, helping businesses reduce both energy costs and environmental impact. It meets the highest sustainability standards, including TCO Certified Generation 10, EPEAT Gold, and the EPEAT Climate+ designation.

The monitor’s housing is made from 95% recycled plastic, while its packaging uses recycled materials to reduce waste. Packaging size has been reduced by around 50%, improving transport efficiency and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 42%. Corporate clients can reduce waste further by opting for collective packaging and desk stand-free models, streamlining both delivery and installation processes.

Across its lifecycle, from production to transport and everyday use, the FlexScan FLT reduces greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 32% compared to Eizo’s previous 23.8-inch models.

Enhanced Connectivity and Productivity

The FlexScan FLT features USB Type-C connectivity with a single cable supporting video output, USB data transfer and up to 60 watts of power for connected devices. In a first for Eizo monitors, the FLT can draw power from external devices via USB Type-C, eliminating the need for an AC adapter in certain setups.

Eizo's eco-focused features include Auto EcoView, which adjusts screen brightness based on ambient lighting and EcoView Optimizer 2, which fine-tunes brightness according to the displayed content. Together, these features enhance visual comfort while reducing power consumption. The new Eco Mode preset activates both functions automatically.

The on-screen display shows real-time power usage for the monitor and connected devices, promoting energy-conscious working. Users can choose to keep this information visible for quick reference at the screen’s edge.

Weighing just 2.4 kg, the FlexScan FLT is lightweight and stylish, while its ‘hollow’ bezel design creates a near-frameless appearance.

The monitor comes with a unique mounting arm that offers flexible screen positioning while creating a floating effect. Its integrated clamp simplifies attachment, requiring only a twist of the base for secure installation or removal.

Over the coming years, it will be interesting to see what energy-efficiencies Eizo is able to make with its ColorEdge line of monitors aimed at [photographers and creatives.
