Canon Speedlite EL-10 Price, Specs, Availability Announced

Canon has announced the Speedlite EL-10, a small, lightweight flashgun that will replace the Speedlite 430EX III-RT for users of Canon mirrorless cameras with the new 21-pin multi-function hot-shoe. As such, the Speedlite EL-10 is designed for use on the Canon EOS R6 II, R3, R8, R7, R10, and R50. It is incompatible with the Canon R5, R6, R100, R or RP, or any of Canon's DSLRs.

The new Speedlite EL-10 sits above the EL-100 and below both the EL-5 and the top-of-the-range EL-1.

It can cover a focal length range of 24-105mm (15-65mm on APS-C format cameras) and has pull-out a wide-angle adapter that extends the coverage to 14mm (9mm on APS-C format). The flash's Guide Number is 40m (133 feet) at ISO 100 at 105mm.

As you'd expect from a modern Canon flashgun, the Speedlite EL-10 can shoot in E-TTL II mode, but the output can also be adjusted manually all the way down to 1/1024th of full-power.

The Canon Speedlite EL-10 is designed for us on Canon’s mirrorless cameras with the 21-pin multi-function hot-shoe.

The Canon Speedlite EL-10 accepts four AA batteries, which can be alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable.

Like the EL-5, the EL-10 has a collection of custom modes to suit different shooting conditions. These modes can also be linked to the camera's custom modes, which means that the flash settings can be changed by changing the camera's custom mode.

In addition, the flash settings can be adjusted individually or in a group using the Canon Camera Connect app on a smartphone. The Speedlite EL-10 als has RT technology which means it can work as a sender or receiver with other Canon flash units with radio-based communication.

The Canon Speedlite EL-10 has a quick and easy-to-use interface.

Canon Speedlite EL-10 Price and Availability
