About the SheClicks awards
The SheClicks awards are designed to celebrate the kit that we love the most and acknowledge great customer service as well as the most outstanding achievement by a female photographer. The seven kit award winners are decided by decided by our judging panel while a group-wide vote selects the Customer Service and Outstanding Achievement Awards after the judging panel determines the shortlist.

Angela is the founder of SheClicks and co-founder of Camera Jabber, a website for photographers with news, reviews, tips and techniques. She started reviewing cameras and photographic kit in early 2004 and since then she’s been Amateur Photographer’s Technical Editor and Head of Testing for Future Publishing’s extensive photography portfolio (Digital Camera, Professional Photography, NPhoto, PhotoPlus, Photography Week, Practical Photoshop, Digital Camera World and TechRadar). -
Amy Davies
FEATURES EDITOR AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Amy has been writing about cameras, photography and associated tech since 2009. Amy was once part of the photography testing team for Future Publishing working across TechRadar, Digital Camera, PhotoPlus, N Photo and Photography Week. She has also exhibited her photography and won awards. She often partakes in unusual projects - including one year in which she used a different camera every day. Amy is currently the Features Editor at Amateur Photographer magazine, and in her spare time works across a number of publications including Wired, Stuff, Digital Camera World, Expert Reviews, and just a little off-tangent, PetsRadar. -
Adrienne Bednarz
PHOTOGRAPHER & ADVENTURER
Adrienne is an internationally recognized photographer based in New York City who focuses on photographing women in various stages of life. Currently, she is working with female-owned businesses to raise awareness of the journey of female entrepreneurship and create a legacy in which today’s businesswomen inspire tomorrow’s business leaders through a photography campaign. In her personal travel photography work, Adrienne focuses on capturing the essence of locations and their people in the quiet moments between the busy bee-ness of life. When she’s not working, Adrienne can be found journaling, and reading fantasy books. -
Amy Moore
JOURNALIST
My mum got me started in photography when I was young but my passion really started when I got my first compact camera, which had a great macro mode. From there I ended up exploring many different styles of photography, and as I couldn’t choose a discipline, I ended up reviewing the kit instead. I now work with Wex Photo Video, reviewing all the new photography and video gear that comes to market. I also shoot weddings, meteorological events, landscapes, events and anything else I can get my hands on. -
Athena Carey, ARPS
ARTIST, EDUCATOR & ADVENTURER
Athena Carey is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society with both a BA and an MFA in photography.
Her career has included owning a portrait studio, being a fine art landscape photographer, running international photo workshops, and teaching photography to all levels and ages from preschool to university, both in person and online.
Athena’s work has been awarded, purchased, published and exhibited throughout the world. Her current projects include ruins in the landscape (IR and visible light), conceptual studio work, an abstract paper series and an ever-growing collection of mixed-media cyanotypes. -
Becky Danese
PHOTOGRAPHER & TUTOR
Becky Danese is a film and digital photographer, photography tutor and technical writer for publications such as Nikon Owner Magazine. With fifteen years of experience working at Nikon specialist Grays of Westminster, she started with film photography from a young age and now favours Nikon mirrorless for her digital shooting, along with a variety of 35mm and 120 film cameras. Macro, landscapes and street photography are her favoured genres. -
Beverley Birchley

I discovered photography when I retired. After years of educating others, it was refreshing and daunting to learn a new skill from scratch. I’ve moved from Nikon to Olympus, (now OM systems) but keep an eye on new innovations by all manufacturers. My photographic archive includes a range of genres, but my principal loves are wildlife photography and street. I sign up for workshops/ courses, take part in amateur competitions, follow professional photographers and, as a result, learn new things every day. -

Daisy May

Daisy May is an award-winning photographer who specialises in creative food photography. With an often humourous aspect to her work, Daisy has a distinct unique style that includes foodscapes, food word play, levitational work, and action shots.
Daisy started her journey into food photography 8 years ago when recovering from anorexia, and the food that was once her biggest fear became her passion. She is now a recognised commercial food photographer and been interviewed by the BBC. Daisy has had work printed in many media publications and included in several photographic exhibitions, including one currently in Mayfair, London. -

Emma Dunham is a multi-award-winning food photographer specialising in all things food and drink related, including commercial, lifestyle and editorial imagery and helping clients gain eye-catching on-brand storytelling images.When not photographing food, Emma devotes her time to running online and in-person workshops to help photographers build a solid food photography business and boost their imagery using a unique way of working with the psychology of food that talks to customers through their imagery.

My name is Eugenia, and I'm a creative pet photographer based in Boston, MA. I embarked on my journey in pet photography in 2018 when I welcomed Chester - a loving, small chocolate ball of fur- into my life. He is my inspiration and is the main reason I've chosen to specialise in working with pets.Pet photography, to me, is a means of showcasing the beauty I see in every pet. I love to come up with unusual photography ideas and create unique fantasy portraits that capture the character of each pet. When not working, she loves landscape and street photography - mainly done while travelling! -
Ita Martin

I'm an award-winning wildlife and nature photographer from Dublin. I took up photography in 2009 and began taking images of birds, progressing quickly to everything else in the natural world.
Being out in the natural world with a camera in tow became my happy place and has given me so much pleasure over the years.
I won the Irish Nature Photographer of the year in 2017 (first woman to do so) and since then I have had many images published.
I have also achieved LIPF, LRPS and EFIAP/gold, and since then, I have presented my work and judged in camera club competitions here in Ireland. -

My career in the arts has led to exhibit in New York and Dubai, also curating a number of exhibitions.
I now have a passion for competitive photography and am a keen participant in BPE and FIAP Salons, FAPA and JMCA Awards.

I work for a Civil Engineering Company carrying out photographic pre-condition surveys and progress photos. For this I need high quality record shots. In my personal photography I am more creative. I like playing with different techniques and cameras, my latest acquisition being a toy thermal printing camera. I love the ethos of the SheClicks community and am delighted to be on the judging panel. -
Jayne Odell

I’m a Cambridge-born, internationally published, award-winning black & white photographer based in Suffolk. I’m a Fellow of The Royal Photographic Society and a member of the Applied Fellowship & Associateship Assessment Panel at RPS House in Bristol. I’ve lectured across the UK at judged at camera clubs over many years. My Arts Council-funded solo exhibition last year was critically acclaimed. I look forward to being a judge again this year for the SheClicks Awards.

Jemella Ukaegbu

Jemella Ukaegbu has been a photographer for more than a decade running her business Mellz Photography LTD and is the founder of The UK Black Female Photographers Community (UKBFTOG) which is a group dedicated to black female photographers to help them have a safe space to connect and grow as a photographer. Jemella holds a First class degree in Photography and her work has been published in magazines and articles such as Amateur Photographer, The Evening Standard and The Huffington Post, and also featured on ITV. -
Jo Plumridge

Jo Plumridge has been a photographic journalist and photographer for over 20 years. She was given her first camera aged 10 and hasn’t stopped shooting since. She writes about photography for a number of websites and magazines and is particularly passionate about promoting female photographers. When she’s not writing about photography, Jo also writes about all things sleep-related, along with reviewing kitchen, home and cat-related products. Outside of work, Jo and her husband foster cats for a local charity, giving her an endless supply of tricky subjects to photograph. -

I'm based in Wicklow, Ireland, and I’m an award-winning, Internationally published photographer. I’m an official photographer and advert designer for Our Dogs Ireland Newspaper, Our Dogs UK and part of the World Dog Press. I mentor at pirds of prey photography workshops and have spoken at camera clubs here in Ireland. I enjoy all genres of photography, but I spend most of my time taking photographs of wildlife and pets. -

Kathryn is a photographer based in South Oxfordshire. She worked in Marketing for over 10 years with many well-known international brands within the food industry. She photographs several genres but specialises in Brand photography & marketing support for small businesses, Food, Events and runs photography workshops.
Her highlights have been photographing a former Prime Minster for several private functions, and at The Royal Albert Hall for BBC Proms.

Laura Galbraith

My first job was teaching Glaswegian teenagers Maths and IT. I now satisfy my teaching urge running photography workshops ranging from how to get off auto to specialised wildlife workshops. When I am not teaching workshops, I shoot pet portrait sessions in my studio in Cambridge. I was born in Africa and am lucky enough to visit regularly to shoot all the amazing wildlife there. Next year I am hosting my first overseas wildlife photography trip in the Masai Mara. -

Lisa Dereycka, a UK art school alumna, transitioned from a career in international fashion to Parisian painting and art therapy for 12 years. In 2012, she ventured into photography, initially focusing on weddings before specializing in portraiture. Now based between Sancerre and Bourges in France, she runs her photography studio, offering workshops and retreats, infusing her passion for visual storytelling into each session. -
Liz Hammond

Liz Hammond is a photographer and artist who makes her living in IT. She fell in love with photography after developing black and white film in science lessons at primary school.
Liz mainly shoots digitally, across a range of genres, but continues to explore analogue and camera-less techniques as part of her practice. During late April and early May you will find her in the bluebell woods of Hampshire.
Liz has an image shortlisted in Round Two of Camera Jabber Photographer of the Year 22/23. -

Now a retired BBC Producer, Theatre Critic and Teacher, I am a 2019 graduate of ‘ A Year With My Camera’ a one-year course with Emma Davies’s School of Photography. I have since exhibited successfully and won several awards.
I cover all genres as I love documenting life, but I also have an interest in art photography. Vintage lenses are a staple part of my kit.
Photography has allowed me to express my creativity and vision of the world and I am firmly on track to continue to explore its endless possibilities. -

After retirement from my profession in IT, seven years ago, I had a eureka moment that I'd become a photographer as I had always had a love of art and imagery and frequently attended the Royal Drawing School in Shoreditch. I subsequently founded LowRedPhoto.
As I love being outdoors, one of my favourite genres is landscape photography and have had features in Amateur Photographer magazine and Photography News. I also enjoy street, macro and artistic photography. I particularly enjoy the end result of seeing an image printed. -
Margaret Soraya

Margaret is best known for capturing the essence of wild, remote places such as the Outer Hebrides. She has travelled widely to photograph on commission, however, her work always comes back to the beautiful wild landscapes of the north of Scotland and the Scottish isles. She has been published in National Geographic Traveller, Outdoor Photography magazine, Photo Professional magazine, Build It magazine, Scotland on Sunday, The Press & Journal and The Herald.
Margaret has also been a professional wedding and commercial photographer for 18 years.
Margaret gives regular presentations and teaches others virtually and in person photographic workshops in Scotland. -
Marie-Ange Bouchard

My journey in photography began in the darkroom during my teenage years, sparking an enthusiasm for experimenting with various techniques, equipment - from iPhones to mirrorless cameras with vintage lenses - and various editing apps and software.
I particularly enjoy street and macro photography but I admire work in other genres.
On a more formal note, I have an ARPS, a CPAGB and a BPE1*. I am a camera club judge as well as a judges’ trainer for the Surrey Photographic Association and I spent four years on the Royal Photographic Society‘s Licentiateship Distinction panel. -
Marketa Zvelebil

Although I loved photography since childhood, I worked as a cancer-research scientist. Now, retired, I can get back to my passion of photography. I am a disabled photographer.
My photography education includes a degree in Professional Photography from the New York School of Photography, as well as a licentiate with the Royal Society of Photography and Craftsmanship with the Guild of Photographers.
I have won numerous photographic competitions and had various exhibitions in France and other countries. My photos have been published in magazines and books, including National Geographic Traveller Magazine. -
Michaela Simpson
PHOTOGRAPHER
Michaela describes herself as a Scottish photographer of people and place. She’s been a freelancer for over 15 years. In 2015 the BIPP awarded her Press & PR photographer of the year and runner up in the Portrait Category. She's a member of the RPS and is active in its Women in Photography group.
A change of lifestyle and move to North Tyneside has allowed her to create more personal work and collaborate with charities other creatives on ongoing projects, two of which are now being supported by Sigma.
As well as printing for clients in her studio, she makes handmade books, with collectors in the UK and further afield. Her work is licensed through Getty Images.

I was born and raised in Norway, but I have lived most of my life in South Africa. I have always had a camera. Marriage, 3 children, plus a 30+ year career in the tourism industry meant that time for photography was limited. My passion for photography was re-ignited in 2016 when I joined a local camera club, the chairperson of which I am currently. I am a photo judge and also tutor beginners in photography and editing. Wildlife and travel photography were my first loves, but now I enjoy exploring other genres, including macro, seascapes, landscapes, food and flower photography. -

She started out mainly painting and drawing until disability affected her manual dexterity and photography became her focus. She says ’being outdoors with nature has become not just a passion but a therapeutic management for me as I continue to battle chronic illness. But even more than that, the naturalist in me has a constant need to learn, to explore the joy in discovery. Photography really is an excellent way to observe and record all the extraordinary behaviour I get to witness. And it makes me happy!’ -

I have been involved with photography for over 50 years, starting at age 15. I used Canon equipment until 2017 when I started using Olympus products (OM1, OM1 MkII and OM 5). I have worked as a freelance photographer and teacher for over 30 years. Garden photography is my top interest although I enjoy many subjects. Tabatha Fireman
FOUNDER OF FEMALE PERSPECTIVE
Tabatha is the founder of Female Perspective photo agency. She is an active agent and photographer member of the AOP, and a co-chair for their women members’ group ‘f22’. Armed with a post grad in photojournalism, Tabatha began her career in 1997 as a freelance music and fashion photographer. Throughout her journey she has worked in multiple roles within the offices of major content license and distribution houses.
She also launched ShotByWomen,the world’s first image library platform to house exclusively female-created content spanning all areas. -
Tigz Rice

Tigz Rice is a UK based Boudoir & Personal Branding Photographer. In 2016, she photographed a lingerie campaign for Scantilly that Huffington Post called ‘one of the world’s most inclusive underwear campaigns’. In 2017 Tigz was voted the world’s leading female burlesque photographer in 21st Century Burlesque’s Burlesque Top 50. And in 2021, Tigz was named as one of Digital Women's Top 40 Digital Women To Watch. She is also an award-winning author, with her book STRIP/TEASE - documenting a decade of work within the burlesque community - winning bronze in the 2020 IPPY Independent Publishing Awards. -
Tracy Calder

Tracy Calder has more than 20 years of experience in the photo magazine industry and is a former editor of Outdoor Photography. In 2018 she co-founded Close-up Photographer of the Year. She has written numerous photography books, and her work has appeared in more than 30 consumer magazines, as well as on the walls of The Saatchi Gallery, The Photographers’ Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery.
